El Quetzal Mexican Restaurant Seattle is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars, based on 20 reviews!
In fifteen years I have lived in the United States, I have never had Mexican this good that reminds me of home. This restaurant made me feel like I was eating my grandmas home cooking. The mole enchiladas, the Gordita and the Sincronizada are some of my childhood dishes my mom and grandma would always cook for my siblings and I. Coming to this restaurant really brought back many happy childhood memories from back home in Querétaro. The owner definitely made the environment a great place to hang out, it was great to talk to him and learn his history and the restaurants history. I definitely recommend coming to El Quetzal. Amazing place, I will come here on my next trip to Seattle.
I am in love with their Nopales salad. If you have never tried cactus, this is the best introduction dish I can advice for you to try. The cactus is not slimy, and the chopped iceberg, radish, tomato, cucumber, onion, and lemon vinaigrette mix is so light and tantalizing, especially when eaten with the fresh tortilla chips that garnish the plate. Order extra chips because the few you get as garnish is not enough for the whole salad. That being said, this salad size is enough for two people to share as an appetizer or a very filling entree salad for one.
Food is always consistently above average for Mexican food in Seattle. The house margaritas are delicious and generous. Overall, a really solid neighborhood spot.
Authentic and Excellent
This is an excellent choice for authentic Mexican food on Beacon Hill. We stopped in after seeing an ad in Seattle Weekly and loved it! The food is very authentic and excellent.
Really BIG tortas! Solid food, super friendly owner. Fish tacos are also usually a good bet.
This bright little room serves up fresh, tasty Mexican bites and bevs (tacos, tortas, horchata) at a good price. Family owned and ran, it's a great place take kids.
If you are looking for a torta in Seattle there are only a couple of places that do 'em up right...and this is one of them. If you're not in the mood for a torta but are still looking for some tasty Mexican fare you'll still walk away from here plenty satisfied
It's not L.A Mexican food but, this is like the only authentic Mexican cuisine that's actually Mexican food and not Americanized Mexican food....
Went for lunch and the food was wonderful. If someone's mother isn't cooking in the back, I'dbe surprised.
The atmosphere is pretty laid back, and the waitstaff quite friendly. I look forward to checking out the back deck.
Best service, owners are always there. He cooks great food from Mexico city and makes specials almost every day. There is always something new to try. The best Tacos al Pastor I have had in Seattle. I used to live in Mexico City, so whenever I get homesick, that is where I go!
mexican food... so tasty. Staff treated us so nice. It has an awesome atmosphere. Menu is similar to a restaurant in El Paso I liked.
This place is amazing. Authentic dishes great staff. Will be back many times.
Best Mexican food in the city. Try the fish tacos. The family that runs it are great and the food is awesome
The best kept secret in Seattle. The best margaritas and service too. Can't wait to go back.
Great food. Kinda pricey, but nice quality food, friendly and fast service
Awesome drink options and good happy hour food too! The patio out back is pretty cozy too. Service is good, although can be slow often.
We were there on a Friday evening and there was a little band playing live music. It was a very nice scene. I got the chicken enchilada with mole, and it was fantastic! Excellent mole! Great place for authentic Mexican cuisine.
Always so good and the owners are so nice. Family friendly, excellent food, a good house margarita. Our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant!
El Quetzal is my favorite Mexican restaurant on Beacon Hill. Food is really amazing, they serve big portions, and it's a very unique style. Service is really great. Micheladas are so delicious.
Best service, owners are always there. He cooks great and makes specials almost every day. There is always something new to try. The best Tacos al Pastor I have had in Seattle!
